The University of Lagos officially launched its Anthem on March 2, 2020, at the Pre-Convocation Press Conference for the 51th (2019) Convocation Ceremonies of the University. The Anthem, launched by the then Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe. It was performed by the University choir together with members of the UNILAG Anthem Committee, Prof. Adejoke Oyewunmi; Prof. Tunde Opeibi and Dr. Albert Oikelome.
The Unilag Anthem has 2 verses with a chorus. It portrays the mission, vision and core values of the University.

University of Lagos,
the rising sun
A fountain of excellence
A Citadel of learning by the lagoon front
Home of sound minds
