1. FISAYO SOYOMBO INTER-VARSITY ESSAY COMPETITION (7TH EDITION)
Organizer: The Union of Campus Journalists (UCJ’UI)
Topic: “Igbo vs Yoruba Post-2023 Election: Can Nigerians Ever Live as One?”
Open to: Students from across Universities in Nigeria
Prizes: 1st Prize: ₦350,000 and internship opportunity. 2nd Prize: ₦250,000. 3rd Prize: ₦200,000

2. B.A. Agbakoba-Onyejianya Annual Legal Essay Prize
Topic: “CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY AND DATA PRIVACY: Legal Obligations And Best Practices”
Eligibility Requirements: Law students and young lawyers not more than 3 years call. All Entrants must submit credible and valid proof of identification.
Prizes: 1st Place: ₦100,000. 2nd Place: ₦75,000. 3rd Place: ₦50,000
Marking Scheme: Points awarded out of 40: 10 for originality and creativity. 10 for evidence of research and proper use of citations. 10 for coherent flow of thought. 10 for interpretation of laws and policies.

Topic for Medical Practitioners: “Promoting well-being and enhancing mental health amongst youth and young adults in Nigeria.”

4. THE 1ST EYITAYO DADA NATIONAL LAWSAN ESSAY COMPETITION
Submission Period: August 30th, 2024 to October 15th, 2024
Topic: “Restoring Integrity in the Nigerian Judiciary: The Role of Judicial Accountability and Transparency in Rebuilding Public Trust.”
Open to: Law students from recognized and accredited Law faculties in Nigeria under LAWSAN
Eligibility: Participants must possess or have applied for a National LAWSAN ID card

Essay Specifications: 1500 to 2500 words. British Received English. Font: Times New Roman, size 12. Line spacing: 1.5. A4 paper. OSCOLA Referencing style for citations.

Open to: Medical students
Prizes: $1,000 Scholarship, FIGS scrubs, Eko stethoscope, and a blog feature

6. 8TH NCDMB ANNUAL NATIONAL UNDERGRADUATE ESSAY COMPETITION
Submission Period: September 16th, 2024 to October 14th, 2024
Topic: “NIGERIAN CONTENT AND OPPORTUNITIES IN AFRICAN LOCAL CONTENT ADVANCEMENT”
Open to: 100-200 level students in public and private Nigerian Universities and Polytechnics
Prizes: 1st Place: ₦1,000,000. 2nd Place: ₦700,000. 3rd Place: ₦500,000. Top 10 National Finalists: Each receives a laptop
Submission: Submit to www.ncdmbessay.ng
Essay Specifications: Maximum 1,500 words. Do not include personal details in the essay content
Required Documents: Letter of admission or signed letter of attestation from Head of Department (HOD)
Judging Criteria: Clarity of Expression, Spelling and Grammar, Originality of thought, Depth of Analysis, Relevance to Industry, and Conformity to Contest Rules
Important Dates: Shortlist Notification: On or before October 28th, 2024 Award Ceremony: November 14th, 2024
